Bowls

The Bowls section currently has around 30 playing members - ladies and men, with a good mix of skill and ability. 

We play from mid-April to mid-September. 

On Wednesday evenings those interested in becoming a member are invited to join us in our weekly “Roll Ups”, which commence at 6.00pm. These are informal evenings, providing an opportunity to practice. For visitors, it’s an ideal opportunity to meet existing members. 

Visitors are welcome to come to three “Roll Up” evenings before deciding whether to become members of the Club. There is a small fee. 

If you are new to bowls, we will provide any necessary help/guidance/tuition and we have spare sets of bowls that you can make use of. All that we ask is that when playing that you wear flat soled shoes/trainers - this prevents damage to the bowls green. 

On most Saturday afternoons we hold club competitions and all members are welcome to participate. 

The Club is a member of the Ely and District Bowls League. Burwell currently plays in Division 2 and competes against other local clubs. These matches are played on Monday and Friday afternoons.
